Capacity Building Seminar at Faculty of Social Sciences: Professional Development in-line with HEC-ORIC KPIs

ORIC Engages Faculty of Social Sciences in Strategic Drive for Higher HEC-ORIC KPIs Ranking

12 February 2026: The Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), in collaboration with the Dean's Office, Faculty of Social Sciences, organized a capacity-building session today on "Professional Development in line with HEC-ORIC KPIs."

Held at the Video Conference Room, the session featured a detailed PowerPoint presentation and interactive discussion led by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Atif, Director ORIC IUB, who provided an in-depth orientation on ORIC-HEC Key Performance Indicators, with focus on:

• Faculty ranking and IUB positioning

• Prominent Researcher Award

• Certificate of Appreciation

• Research visibility and institutional impact

A key highlight was the commitment shown by over ten faculty members who expressed strong intention to pursue copyright filings, civic engagement, policy advocacy, and consultancy contracts. The Faculty of Social Sciences currently holds 3rd position among all IUB faculties based on last year's ORIC data and aims to rank higher this year.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Atif commended the faculty's enthusiasm, stating:

"Their clear intent to pursue copyright filings, civic engagement, policy advocacy, and consultancy contracts reflects a mature understanding of academia's evolving role in a knowledge-based economy. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, this faculty is on track to becoming a top performer."

The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer segment, where Dr. Muhammad Naeem Aamir, Manager Research Management, and Dr. Muhammad Sajad, Manager Innovation and Commercialization, were also present to interact with faculty members and facilitate responses to their queries related to copyright filings, consultancy contracts, and other ORIC-linked performance indicators.
