►GSCWU HOSTS ORIC-IUB DELEGATION TO STRENGTHEN ORIC FRAMEWORK AND COLLABORATIVE INITIATIVES

At the invitation of Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, Vice-Chancellor of Govt. Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur, the ORIC team from The Islamia University of Bahawalpur visited GSCWU to exchange insights and strategic guidance aimed at enhancing the ORIC framework at GSCWU. The meeting also explored avenues for mutual collaboration between both institutions.

Representing GSCWU, the meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, Vice Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Dr. Ashfaq Mahmood Qureshi, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Amna Noor, Director QEC; Dr. Shabana Ramzan, Director ORIC; Mr. Shakel Khalil, Deputy Director QEC; Dr. Syeda Rabia Ejaz, Deputy Director ORIC; along with other relevant staff members.

The session commenced with a brief introduction of the ORIC-IUB team and operational scope. The team included Prof. Dr. Muhammad Atif, Director; Mr. Abdul Moeed Abid , Additional Director; Prof. Dr. Umer Farooq, Member of the ORIC Steering Committee; Dr. Muhammad Sajad, PhD, Manager of Innovation and Commercialization; Dr. Shafia Arshad, Ph.D, Manager of University-Industrial Linkages and Technology Transfer; Dr. Umar Bilal Sajid, Assistant; and Mr. Hafiz Faizan Ahmad, Manager’s Assistant.

The Director of ORIC provided an overview of essential requirements for achieving ORIC recognition, highlighting key areas such as the constitution of ORIC Steering Committee, the development of a five-year strategic plan, and the establishment of a comprehensive University IP Policy. Additionally, the team shared valuable insights and experiences with participants on various administrative matters, effective database management, IP protection strategies, and fostering industry linkages.

By encapsulating the session, the Vice-Chancellor of GSCWU expressed gratitude to the ORIC IUB team for accepting the invitation and sharing valuable insights. Representatives from both institutions agreed to advance collaborative efforts for mutual growth and improvement.
