►ORIC IUB Hosts Steering Committee Meeting and Appreciation Ceremony for Top Scientists
The day featured with First ORIC Steering Committee meeting for the fiscal year 2024-25 and complemented by an Appreciation Ceremony to honor the faculty members of IUB listed among the top 2% most cited scientists in 2024 as per the Stanford Ranking. The ceremony was hosted by OIRC IUB on November 20, 2024 at the Conference Room, Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat, Abbasia Campus, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
The session was commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, thereafter Mr. Abdul Moeed Abid, Additional Director ORIC welcomed all the participants and paid a myriad thanks to the Vice-Chancellor/Chairman ORIC Steering Committee, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran for presiding the session.
In the welcome note, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Atif, Director ORIC, provided a comprehensive briefing on ORIC's initiatives and achievements including recognition of IUB ORIC from HEC, Approved Intellectual Property and Research Policies of the University, Significant Enhancement in IUB recognized journals, research journals subscription models, securing university intellectual property, representing university at various national forums etc.
He expressed gratitude to the participants of the ceremony especially the members of the ORIC Steering Committee from the industry and highlighted the critical role of academia-industry linkages in the advancement of Research, Innovation and Commercialization. He extended his thanks to the esteemed Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran for honoring the session with his presence.
Director ORIC acknowledged the achievements of the top 2% scientists of the world, and also acknowledged the efforts of faculty members who have filed patent and copyright applications.
Afterward, certificates of appreciation were distributed among the distinguished scientists, and copyright and patent applicants.
In the closing remarks, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran commended the efforts of the ORIC team and faculty members, stating, "ORIC is now on the right track, and I applaud all faculty members for their remarkable contributions to research and innovation."
The session ended with a vote of thanks from and to the chair.
