Ranking in Stanford University's World's Top 2% Scientists

The celebrations marking the achievements of 27 researchers from The Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB), who were featured in Stanford University's World's Top 2% Scientists, were truly remarkable. The event, hosted primarily by ORIC-IUB, was an occasion of pride and recognition for the varsity. During this event, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar highlighted IUB's significant position in both scientific and social sciences research, commending the dedication of the researchers. Commissioner Bahawalpur, Dr. Ehtesham Anwar, extended his encouragement to the teachers and researchers of IUB, underscoring their commendable efforts.
In a special briefing, Director of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Atif, shared the recent approval received by IUB's ORIC from the Higher Education Commission. He presented impressive statistics, with the university having published 2351 papers, 52 research projects in progress, 7 commercial-scale working laboratories, 3 approved patents, and 6 patents in development. Furthermore, IUB boasts 15 research journals recognized by the Higher Education Commission. Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar's leadership and ORIC's dedication to enhancing research and sustainable development were lauded.
The event was graced by the presence of notable figures such as Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmed Buzdar, Dean of the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nasir Hameed, Director of Information Bahawalpur, and Muhammad Tayyab, Assistant Commissioner General. Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Dr. Ehtesham Anwar, along with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar and Director ORIC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Atif, presented certificates to the renowned scientists, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the field of research.
