Two days workshop on Intellectual Property with a theme: How to file a Patent Application

ORIC IUB (Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization) organized a two days workshop on Intellectual Property with a theme: How to file a Patent Application. The workshop was conducted in the Conference room of Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus.
Dr. Farooq Sultan, Ph.D, Consultant, Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer and Engr. Hafiz Imtiaz Ahmed, Consultant, Certified Innovation & Technology Commercialization Professional (Georgia Tech, USA) were the trainers of the workshop. Both experts shared their knowledge and experiences, providing valuable insights and guidance to the attendees. The workshop also featured interactive sessions, group activities, and case studies to enhance the learning experience.
The faculty members from various science faculties participated in the event. During the workshop, the participants explored various aspects of intellectual property in the context of Pakistan and US patent laws. Participants left the workshop feeling empowered and equipped with the knowledge and tools to protect their intellectual property and make the most of their innovative ideas.
Resultantly, on the second day of the workshop, more than a dozen faculty members submitted their projects to the ORIC for discussion with experts for filing the patents to the IPO Pakistan.
In the concluding remarks, the Vice-Chancellor thanked the trainers for their valuable time and appreciated the efforts made by the ORIC for fostering awareness and understanding of this crucial topic. He further stated that It's great to see ORIC taking the initiative to support innovation and protect the intellectual property rights of the University.
